MACAU is a place where East meets West. In this tour, you will be shown the charm of the Chinese and Portuguese heritage embraced in arrays of modernized architecture. The tour begins with certain World Heritages including Na Tcha Temple, Section of the Old City Walls, Mount Fortress and the landmark of Macau – Ruins of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
NA TCHA TEMPLE (WORLD HERITAGE)
This Chinese traditional style temple called Na Tcha Temple which was built for worshipping Na Tcha (a mythical character). This temple has become a World Heritage in 2005.
SECTION OF THE OLD CITY WALLS (WORLD HERITAGE)
This surviving segment of City Wall was built in 1569. It is a remnant of an early Portuguese tradition of constructing defensive walls around their port settlements. This Old City Walls has become a World Heritage in 2005.
MUSUEM OF MACAU
The Museum of Macau, exhibits Macau's history, people and culture, emphasizing the bi-culture of the place.
N.B. Macau Museum is closed on Monday.
MOUNT FORTRESS (WORLD HERITAGE)
The fortress was Macau's principal military defence structure which was built conjunction with the Jesuits from 1617 to 1626. The fortress covers an area of 10,000 square metres and in the shape of a trapezoid. It has become a World Heritage in 2005.
You will be transferred to Zhuhai for a Chinese lunch and continue our adventure.
ZHUHAI is one of the original Special Economic Zones established in the 1980s located on the southern coast of Guangdong Province. Zhuhai's attractive environment and surrounding landscapes help its reputation within China as a garden city and its quality of life. Hence the city attracted millions of tourists a year. Popular attractions include Statue of Fisher Girl, Lover's Road, Meixi Stone Archways, Face-changing show and Gongbei Shopping Mall.
Statue of Fisher Girl & Lover's Road
The main tourist attraction in the Zhuhai city is the Statue of Fisher Girl located at the scenic Xianglu Bay along Lover's Road in which is the landmark of Zhuhai. The Fisher Girl holds a pearl high in the air with both hands, admiring its bright luster that also symbolizes the brightness of Zhuhai
Meixi Stone Archways
The Meixi Stone Archways is located at Meixi Village in Qianshan town, Zhuhai City. It occupies 126,000 square meters. Today, only three stone archways remain, which were built by Guangxu Emperor in 1886 and 1891 in honor of Cheng Fang and his families. The stone archways are built from granite. It combines the architectural art of the east and west, and has many wonderful engravings.
Face Changing Show
The face changing, or "bian lian" in Chinese, is an important aspect of Chinese Sichuan opera. Performers wave their arms and twist their heads, and their painted masks change again and again. Face changing began 300 years ago, during the reign of the Qing Dynesty Emperor Qianlong (1736-1795). The show performs everyday in the Meixi Theatre.
Gongbei Shopping Mall
A 2-hour visit in the Gongbei Shopping Mall will allow you opportunity to shop and bargain. Remember to bring adequate cash and an extra pair of helping hands.
Note: If time permits, you may be guided to visit a handicraft shop to view the local handicraft on route.
