As is with every practice in China there is a number of myths associated with the use of fireworks during Chinese New Year. Legend has it that the fireworks are set off to awaken a sleeping dragon who is supposed to bring forth the rain for the agriculture based society. Another belief that the noise of the firecrackers wards of evil spirits.

Take the opportunity to watch the fireworks display from a different perspective by going on a "Fireworks Display Cruise" and enjoy the show while touring the world-famous Victoria Harbour with Gray Line
